PHYSICIAN CEO™ Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University

The Physician CEO™ program is an accelerated business immersion program designed exclusively for physicians. It is delivered as an intensive, MBA-style experience, teaching the core business skills of strategy, leadership, negotiations, marketing, operations, finance and uniquely focued on practice growth. We’ve all heard the saying, take care of your patients and everything else will take care of itself. But in today’s world, simply taking care of patients is no longer adequate. Physicians must also take the leadership role. We must be the CEO. Why? Because the CEO sets the values and drives the vision for a practice, and physician values necessarily extend beyond business considerations. Physicians must always put the welfare and safety of patients as the paramount concern. This is very different from the typical business approach of focusing exclusively on profits. Physician leadership is essential to a patient-focused practice. The Physician CEO™ – developed by SurgiVision® Consultants, Inc. in collaboration with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a top rated business school for executive education – www.PHYSICIAN-CEO.com

Building Indiana’s Circular Economy for the Next 200 Years Gary Pt. 1

Are you interested in

Innovative solutions that revolutionize the use of materials,

Reducing costs, eliminating waste, and increasing reuse,

Improving designs for manufacturing and energy systems,

Creating jobs that are good for businesses, communities, and individuals,

Using natural resources more sustainably?

You are invited to join us for a panel discussion dedicated to making the circular economy mainstream in our region.

This event is the second in a series of events organized throughout Indiana in 2016. We will explore the best strategies, local initiatives and the social, technological, business, community innovations that support the transition to a circular economy in Indiana.

You will engage with our panel and the audience in an exchange of ideas and initiatives on how to apply the principles of a circular economy to your business, organization and city. You will gain the knowledge, inspiration, and confidence to become partners in the regional circular economy and will leave with valuable ideas on practical changes that can promote overall economic, social, and ecological well-being and lead to a positive, lasting impact on your community.

Agenda

Circular economy explained

Success stories

Transforming, not abandoning steelmaking, good jobs, flourishing communities, positive social impact – foundations for Gary’s circular economy

Open discussion

Who Should Attend?

Engineers, entrepreneurs, educators, students, designers, manufacturers, business leaders, renewable energy professionals, supply chain managers, sustainability professionals, urban planners, city managers, farmers and others interested in learning about building the circular economy are encouraged to attend. Please pass this along to friends and colleagues who might be interested.

The panel includes:

Shannon Anderson on behalf of Sustainable Indiana 2016, a citizen initiative of Earth Charter Indiana. Shannon has a long and distinguished history of environmental activism and achievements.

Austin Kasso is the founder and Executive Director of RedGiant Union. He grew up in New York and moved to Indiana to study agriculture, when he was 18 years old. He has been passionate about sustainable economics since high school. Five years later, he founded the nonprofit Red Giant Union, to build towards his vision of an abundance and variety of locally grown produce.

Silvia Leahu-Aluas is the founder of Sustainable Manufacturing Consulting, a consulting firm specializing in sustainable manufacturing and the circular economy. She is dedicated to the revival of US domestic manufacturing and works within a network of great consultants and organizations to make the circular economy the new model for sustainable and prosperous US industrial regions.

The event will be managed for low environmental impact by purchasing carbon offsets and sourcing locally-made and recyclable/compostable materials used during the event.

Our event is free to attend, but requires registration. We do welcome donations. We also welcome sponsorships, either in-kind or monetary, for which the sponsor will receive verbal recognition at the start of the workshop, one registration, and their logo and website link on the workshop web presence and all related materials.
